Welcome to the travels and experiences of Gavin Norquay

I've done it. Saved for 2 years. Finally - I will start my biggest trip yet. In early March 2003, I, Gavin Norquay, will be leaving my home, friends and family behind as I embark on a solo round-the-world travel experience.

Oh, yea that trip is now complete. I made it half way around the world from Costa Rica, Panama, Galapagos Islands(Ecuador), French Polynesia, Cook Islands, Nuie, Tonga, Fiji, New Zealand and Australia before returning home 14months later in May 2004.

Summers a comin... kinda here already.

Yeppers, my wrist has recently been released from its evil cast after my operation in august. Scaphoid bone is slowly healing up so thats good. I was off work for a while - back now. Still working away on the Hippie Bus - It won't be too too long off :S... hopefully! Just thought I'd toss on an update ;)

Hey all,

Just a quick update. I'm working two jobs now, went back to White Spot to work as a waiter and also am now in sales at some sports store. Wooohoo. Keeps me busy.

Just starting to work on the van really, summer is hot and wonderful... camping is fun and occaisional. Thats about it for now.

I've now bought myself... or at least am going to tomorrow a 1976 Volkswagen Westfalia Camper :D. I'm quite excited.

The van is just in pieces and has to be all reassembled basically. Here's the pic:

As you can see... it's gonna need some time - I'll let you know how it goes.

Allo! After a 12 hour bus ride, and 20hrs worth of flights go figure - I'm wasted - but also I'm home! Woohoo. Quite a change being back. Yikes. I'll put another update or 2 up in the next little while :)

Having a great time so far. I board the bus in about 4 or 5 hours and then enjoy the lovely 12hr nighttime drive down to Sydney. Woohoo! I'm working on a final little bit of sun today. The next update might even possibly be done from my home ! Talk to ya laters.

Heya,

In Australia right now. Arrived 2 days ago and have just been touring myself around Sydney checking out the typical sites :D. Was given the chance to head up to a big festival this weekend instead of just hanging out in Sydney so I'm leaving this morning for Byron Bay area up north - about 12 hours drive north. Haha. At least it'll get me seeing more of the country :D. I'm quite excited. I'll get back to Sydney on Tuesday at 6:30am. Then I fly out of Syd at 10am the same day! So timing will be of some importance! Should be fine thou :D

I've left Hamilton for the last time! At least for a while. After a large unrelated party on Saturday night(24th) I said farewell to the friends I've made in New Zealand and hopped in my ride up to Auckland. I'll be here until Wednesday when I fly to Sydney. I stay in Sydney for 5 days and then take off back home :O. Seems like so soon, should be back on the 4th of May or so.
